Monday

things we can eat

this afternoon we shook handfuls of seeds, red russian, golden frills, red kotsuma, wrinkly crinkly cress, firecracker, sulu, shallot cress, winter density, giant magenta, sorrel, and all those others, into the field. and there was something about the light, maybe an evening storm, there was a shift in the breeze that brought fall. the cicadas were singing with their whole bodies buzzing and i felt grateful to these seeds this soil this space and your hands and your hands and your hands and your amazing ability to imitate anyone. so grateful. and then we ate sweet corn raw on the cob and went home.
